Steven Kirkwood
Registered Patent Agent
Mr. Kirkwood’s practice as a patent agent centers on patent drafting and prosecution for foreign and domestic clients in the electrical and software arts. He has a strong background in telecommunications systems, mobile devices, user interfaces, operating systems, and search engines, as well as experience with semiconductor devices and processes, display technologies, and other electrical-related areas. Mr. Kirkwood holds a bachelor’s of electrical engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a bachelor’s of arts in Rhetoric from the University of Virginia. He is currently enrolled as a J.D. student at the George Washington University Law School with an expected graduation date in 2011. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kirkwood practiced for three and a half years with a large, Midwestern-based law firm in its patent prosecution group. Mr. Kirkwood spent nearly a decade working in college athletics, as a volleyball coach and media relations assistant, before entering the intellectual property field.
