Tamotsu Okato
Patent Technical Specialist
Mr. Tamotsu Okato, a Patent Attorney in Japan, is now resident in our Tokyo office located in Shinagawa, Tokyo. He primarily supports the preparation and prosecution of US patent applications for Japanese clients and also assists in litigation support activities.
He has 20 years of experience working with a major Japanese company and 15 years of experience in preparing and prosecuting software-related and electrical patent applications and also in handling trademarks. He is an active member of the SW committee in JPAA (Japan Patent Attorney Association) since 2008 and became the Vice-Chairman in 2010.
Okato-san holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Kyushu Institute of Technology in Kita-Kyushu, Japan.
