Michael J. Steger • Partner

Profile

Mr. Steger focuses his practice on client counseling in all phases of preparation and prosecution of patent applications, including appellate practice before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (formerly the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences). Mr. Steger has extensive experience representing both domestic and non-domestic Fortune 500 companies, as well as individual inventors. Mr. Steger has written over one hundred patent applications, prosecuted hundreds of others, and has prepared opinions concerning patentability, infringement, and freedom-to-operate. Mr. Steger also counsels clients regarding patent portfolio strategy, and he has developed strategies tailored for each individual client’s specific needs.

Mr. Steger holds a Juris Doctor from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Mr. Steger is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a registered agent in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
