Kwang Yup (Timothy) Chae is a Partner at Hauptman Ham LLP, where his practice focuses on federal trademark prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). With over two decades of experience, Mr. Chae has managed thousands of U.S. trademark matters on behalf of major international corporations, startup businesses, and sole proprietors.

Mr. Chae has served as a designated U.S. trademark attorney for applicants supported by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency (KOIPA) since 2013. He has also held leadership and advisory roles within the Korean intellectual property community, including serving as Vice President of the Korean-American Intellectual Property Bar Association and as an arbitrator for the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board.

A respected lecturer, Mr. Chae has conducted numerous presentations for Korean universities, professional associations, and government agencies, including the Korea Intellectual Property Association (KINPA), Korea Trademark & Design Association (KOTA), Korea Patent Attorneys Association (KPAA), Korea Creative Content Agency (KCCA), and Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency (KOIPA).
