Prior to private practice, he spent more than three years as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he focused on sophisticated software-based vehicle control technologies, including engine control, power distribution, anti-lock braking, automatic transmissions, air-bag actuation, and vehicle guidance systems.

Mr. Auchterlonie has lectured internationally, conducting seminars in the United States, Korea, and Japan on U.S. application drafting and prosecution practices.
